What We Learned from the Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic threw Infection Preventionists and Infection
Prevention and Control practices in the long-term care environment into
the spotlight. Throughout this pandemic, IPs have demonstrated
adaptation and virulence, staying abreast of the ever-changing
guidelines and regulations. As we are beginning to move out of the
pandemic we have changed some of our practices because of knowledge and
skills learned. During this training session, we will review and discuss
changes in the role of the IP, changes in surveillance activities, and
changes in personal protective equipment use in our long-term care
world.
