Members will also be briefed on the current political landscape and its effect on policymaking.

California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) is a multi-year initiative by DHCS to improve the quality of life and health outcomes for Medi-Cal recipients. Long-Term Care (LTC) services will be “carved in” to Managed Care Plans (MCPs) throughout California by January 1, 2023. CalAIM will bring significant changes to many counties and plans will need to provide new services to the communities they serve. In this session, Charles Bacchi, President & CEO of California Association of Health Plans & Linnea Koopman, CEO of Local Health Plans of California will join Karen Widerynski to review the status of the CalAIM program and discuss some of the operational challenges ahead.
