This two-day class will address all of the key aspects of serving as the Director of Nursing in a long-term care facility. If you are a new DON or have been one for 30 years, this class is for you! The class will give you the correct tools to successfully perform the duties of the Director of Nursing in a long-term care facility.

ICD-10 PDPM Intensive: Introduction to Coding 

Effective October 1st, the new PDPM payment model will rely on very specific ICD-10 codes reported on the MDS to determine the resident’s “Clinical Category” payment rate. This one-day Boot Camp is an intense journey through PDPM and ICD-10, orientation on how to use the codebook correctly, expert advice on how to navigate the 120-page Guidelines, a look at 25 LTC cases coded correctly, and a wrap up covering strategies for PDPM coding success.

This two-day class will help you prepare for your recertification survey from pre-survey to post-survey, and everything in between. This is your opportunity to get out ahead of the survey process. Bring your questions, concerns, and fears about survey so our instructors can help you navigate the process in the most effective way.

June 16, 18, 23 and 25  - (Virtual Learning)

MDS 3.0 Basic Training

This class examines each section of the MDS and how it impacts quality of care, reimbursement, Quality Measures, the Five Star Program and the Quality Accountability Supplemental Payment (QASP) Program. Updated changes to the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) are outlined in each section of the MDS.

Director of Staff Development (DSD) 24 Hour Education Training

This class is designed for those interested in meeting the criteria for the Director of Staff Development (DSD) position in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 5, Chapter 2.5, Section 71829. Within six (6) months of employment and prior to teaching a certification program, DSD candidates must obtain a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education courses in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs.
