Long-term care facilities are staffed by highly motivated employers who have dedicated their lives to serving a segment of healthcare where recognition is seldom given. There are large numbers of veteran employees working in long-term care facilities who have a sincere dedication to their chosen field, and deserve to be showcased to consumers, legislators, government agencies and the media.
“Facility Super Stars” are veteran employees who have dedicated their lives to serving the facility or home and its residents/clients, as well as being involved in the local community.
The top 20 nominees will be selected to receive a Facility Super Star Award and will be honored at an awards ceremony during CAHF’s Annual Convention in Palm Springs this November.
Presently employed full or part-time in long-term care at a CAHF member facility
Has received special recognition in his/her own right (first LVN, specialized degrees, civic awards for involvement in community, school, youth, senior or church work, etc.)
Demonstrates active participation in the community in which he/she lives
Climbed the career ladder in the face of odds that would otherwise be considered discouraging (i.e. dealt with family responsibilities, lack of funds, physical challenges or lack of formal education.)
At least 10 years of service in long-term care. (Does not have to be at the same facility/home)
Not currently a facility administrator
Please note: Only ONE Super Star can be nominated from each facility.
Recognition at CAHF’s Annual Convention & Expo in Palm Springs
A Facility Super Star Award plaque
Judging will be conducted by the CAHF Board of Directors and award winners and non-winners will be notified within 4-5 weeks.
