PLEASE NOTE: this training is virtual and has been split into a four part virtual class for your convenience. The Director of Nursing training will be virtual and will take place on Go To Meetings.

All attendees will be expected to be on camera. Registrants will be sent a link and a DON Binder will be shipped to each registrant.

Dates: July 20, 21, 27 & 28, 2021 (Log in access will be sent 24 hours prior to each training date)

Time:
8:20AM - 8:30AM - Log into Virtual training/System check if needed

8:30AM - 1:00PM - Class Time (Each Date Listed)

Description:
This class will address all of the key aspects of serving as the Director of Nursing in a long-term care facility. If you are a new DON or have been one for 30 years, this class is for you!

The class will give you the correct tools to successfully perform the duties of Director of Nursing in a long-term care facility.

Overview of SNF demographics and history

The Role of the DON and Key Partners
Role of DON, NHA, MD, DSD, SSD, AC, RD/DDS, Charge Nurse, CNAs

Regulatory and Reimbursement Framework
Practice Acts/Standards of Care, T22, CFR, Licensure vs Certification, HSC, and other applicable codes and statutes, payment sources, RUGs, MDS, RAI, Level of Care

DON Survival and other Need to Knows
Time management, stress management, importance of Policies and Procedures, staffing requirements, budget, abuse requirement reporting, Disaster Preparedness, unusual occurrence reporting, and more

CE Hours:

Registrants must be logged in individually for all four days from 8:30AM - 1:00PM to receive CE hours (NHAP - 16 (p) and BRN - 16).

Materials Provided:

QCHF's DON / Nurse Leadership Training manual, CARE Recommendations, various handouts (Books will be shipped the week of July 19th for any registrations received after July 14, 2021 )

BOARD REFUND POLICY: In order to receive a refund, cancellations for QCHF/CAHF classes must be made five (5) business days prior to the beginning of the course. Cancellations must be in writing to cmerced@cahf.org or via FAX at 916-446-4454. Transfer of registration is done ONLY if notified in writing prior to the start of the class.
