NONPHARMACOLOGICAL ALTERNATIVES TO PSYCHOTROPICMANAGEMENT WEBINAR
March 7, 2019

Skilled nursing facilities are facing great challenges when it comes to caring for individuals with a wide array of behaviors and continual expectations to provide that care using the least amount of medication.  According to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as of Q2 2018 the use of antipsychotic medication in California was 11.5 percent compared to the national average of 14.6 percent.  The improvements California has achieved will require continued focus and new techniques to improve or even maintain based on the new resident profile.

Participants will learn the core concepts of successful behavioral management, how to conduct an individualized assessment and root-cause analysis, as well as review individualized non-pharmacological interventions.

Look for the next psychotropic management webinars on June 6, 2019, September 5, 2019 and December 5, 2019

PDPM/ICD-10 WEBINAR
AVAILABLE ON-DEMAND NOW

Big changes are coming for LTC in 2019. The RUG reimbursement system is being replaced by the Patient Driven Payment Model. ICD-10 will take the starring role in categorizing the patient into one of ten Clinical Categories (which determine payment rates). 25,000 ICD-10 codes will be rejected if reported under PDPM. This presentation will review PDPM and how ICD-10 drives the Clinical Category process.

Quality Care Health Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) educational foundation. Our goal is to provide affordable, cost-effective, in-depth training opportunities on a multitude of subjects relating to the needs of long-term care providers in California. These needs cover issues such as regulatory compliance, the Medicare reimbursement system, professional conferences, certification courses, and tools for hands-on management in long-term care facilities.

Topics for all QCHF programs are developed through membership needs assessment data, changes in state and federal regulations, and access to rapidly changing developments in the delivery system of long-term care facilities.

QCHF also provides valuable educational products for long-term care providers. For products not available through QCHF, please see our references to other publication providers.

Each year QCHF offers scholarship opportunities for the employees of long-term care health facilities who are furthering their education and plan to stay within the industry. Scholarships are given in $500 to $2,500 amounts. Applications are available starting in January of each year, and are due June 15 of that year.
