The Disaster Preparedness Program is currently working on a Pandemic Workbook, expected to be completed in May. It will be the first of its kind written specifically for long term care. This is a collaborative project that draws on the expertise of Program staff, UCSF's Integrating Medicine and Public Health Program, and the Centers for MediCare and Medicaid. Extrapolating from currently available guidance, and with the expertise of the authors in pandemic flu as well as long term care needs, the workbook will develop specific recommendations as well as planning tools for long term care facilities. This website is another CAHF Disaster Preparedness Program project, and it seeks to house the best and most informative of the many resources and positive practices currently in existence. The website will also provide an opportunity for LTC providers to share their own positive practices. |
