Conducting a Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment

A Hazard and Vulnerability Assessment identifies the risk of potential disasters to a given facility in its location. It is a tool used clarify the most likely disasters that your facility faces. It should include both natural and man-made disasters, as well as internal and external risks. See below for sample HVAs. Additional HVAs can be found on the web.
Work with your local disaster response authorities and your insurance company to help identify the potential risk for any given disaster to your facility.
