| Really Ready: Disaster Preparedness for Long Term Care |
On September 5-6, 2007, CAHF's Disaster Preparedness Program hosted Really Ready: Disaster Preparedness for Long Term Care. This conference, the first of its kind, attracted over 300 participants who responded very favorably to this topic. Really Ready offered attendees the opportunity to build a more resilient healthcare delivery and disaster response system through educational sessions combined with useful tools and resources, and opportunities to meet key partners. CAHF's Disaster Preparedness Program also used this opportunity to unveil its new Pandemic Influenza Workbook for Long Term Care Providers, a unique resource developed for LTC. This Workbook was authored by staff of the Disaster Preparedness Program in conjunction with outside expertise from co-authors and reviewers. Each conference attendee received a copy of the Workbook on CD. Many participants requested that the valuable information contained within their conference binders be made available for download.
