    Lights! Camera! Action!
Showcasing Long-Term Care in a Positive Light

photo of people in wheelchairs having funThere are lots of good things going on in long-term care, and lots of positive stories to tell.

But often times, those positive stories get lost amidst the bustle of daily activities and challenges.

Bringing positive stories to the forefront – sharing them with the public, media, legislators and even our fellow providers – takes some effort, but the rewards are plentiful.

By sharing our stories with the public, through community events, media outreach and grassroots activities, we help dispel some of the unpleasant and untrue myths that plague long-term care.  We demonstrate that there is an abundance of life, energy, caring and a strong sense of community within our facilities and homes.

Through CAHF’s awards programs, including the Showcase Awards and Excellence in Programming Awards, we encourage our member facilities to share their stories and we publicly recognize them for their efforts.

Through pages such as these, we hope to provide a platform for sharing – and replicating -- creative ideas.

We invite you to click through the events and activities below, and read about just a few of good things going on in long-term care.
